UNDER 13s DEFEAT GLEN ROVERS:
On Friday 26th September the Under 13 team travelled to the Glen for the second game of their Campaign. The Rockies girls started very strongly and dominated the early exchanges. It was Katherine Ronayne who opened the scoring with a very good goal after great ball in from Hayley Ryan. This was to be Blackrock's only score of the first half despite strong play from Blackrock forwards, Grace Marum and Sorcha Casey. The Blackrock defence were under pressure for the remainder of the game, but they stood strong and defended excellently. Youngsters Aideen Nagle and Clodagh O'Keeffe played very well in the half back line and they were well supported by Aine Kearney and Katelyn Hickey in midfield.
The Glen went out in the second half determined to get a score and get back into the game but as the game went on, the Blackrock backs grew in confidence and the Michelle Murphy and Sarah Hennessy started to dominate in full back line. Katelyn Hickey who worked tirelessly throughout the first half started to dominate the game from the middle of the field. Grace Marum worked hard totry to break down the glen defence and when she was fouled in front of the Glen goal, Katelyn Hickey stepped up to slot the resulting free over the bar. This left the score at 1-1 to 0-0.
The Rockies team worked hard for the remaining minutes to make sure of their win.
Team:Carol Ryan, Niamh Wedel, Michelle Murphy, Sarah Hennessy, Katie O'Brien, Aideen Nagle, Clodagh O'Keeffe, Aine Kearney, Katelyn Hickey, Ailbhe Crowley, Grace Marum, Sarah Ryan, Hayley Ryan, Katherine Ronoyne, Sorcha Casey.

middle of the field. The team was: Carol Ryan, Sarah Ryan, Clodagh O'Keeffe, Emer Fahy, Aideen Nagle,

Under 14s V Barrs:
The under 14s bounced back after there defeats in the Feile with a great win over St.Finbarrs. The girls showed great character to put the previous weekend behind them. Mollie Hurley was back to her best with a solid display at centre back. Kelly O'Brien and Katelyn Hickey fought hard around the middle of the field and once again Michelle Murphy and Carol Ryan were reliable at the back. Scores from Amy Batt and Aideen Nagle meant we lead at the break. Barrs tried hard to get back into the game in the second half but were denied time and time again by the rockies defence. Blackrock finished the game strongly and were rewarded with a fantasitc goal by Ailbhe Crowley.
